Struggling Learning Program

Teenworks offers testing, evaluations, and specialized tutoring for struggling students. Tutoring is available in Reading Comprehension, Reading Decoding (Dyslexia), Spelling and Math.  All of the tutoring or the testing is done online  in the convenience of your own home.  You must have a working computer with speakers, and headset.  The software to do this is included in the price.

The charge for testing is $45.  The number of tests needed depends on the student’s needs.  Usually people have to do two – three different tests.  Maximum number of tests available is four. ( Let II, Spelling, Reading, and Math)

The tutoring charges are:

  • One-on-one tutoring – $42 per session/student
  • Two or more students – $21.00 per session/student

Sessions will be 45 minutes long. Two sessions per week are required in order for tutoring to be successful.

Private Tester and Tutor

Jean Manning is a graduate of Northeastern Bible College. After graduation, Jean finished her requirements for Elementary Education at William Paterson State Teacher’s College is Paterson, New Jersey. She has taught grades 4th-8th in Christian and Charter Schools. Jean has completed training at the Michigan Dyslexia Institute as well as finishing courses in the Linda Mood Bell Programs in Math and Reading Comprehension. In addition to this, she has completed other training programs such as Touch Phonics and the Essential Learning Systems Computer program. Mrs. Manning has tutored Teenworks students for the past fifteen years. For the last three years, Jean has been teaching at the Teenworks building in Grand Ledge, MI and with Webworks online program. Jean resides with her husband, 5 birth children, and 9 adopted children in Portland, Michigan.
