Course Description:
In this course students will be introduced to the basic vocabulary, learning pronunciation, and how to use vocabulary in conversations and written exercises. Students will develop skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking the Spanish language. The pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar focus is on communicating in Spanish as it is used by native Spanish speakers in everyday situations. The goal is for the students to enjoy the experience of discovering another language and culture.
Course Notes:
- Since the best way to learn another language is practice, homework assignments will be required so students can practice at home. Homework will include material from the textbook, the activities manual and material provided by the tutor such as worksheets, readings and recorded conversations.
- Students’ grades will be given based on homework assignments, class participation, a cultural project, quizzes and quarterly exams.
- 7th and 8th grade may have different handouts appropriate for those grades.
