Course Description:

Drama is one way to encourage students to develop confidence in themselves and the talents that God has given them. The goal of this class is to help students develop the skills needed to work with drama in a church or other setting, and to understand that it is possible to have a production that will glorify God, even on a shoestring budget.

Students work together to produce a full-length drama, learning voice projection, stage management, co-operation and patience.  Dramatic ability is not required but hard work is, as we seek to help students stretch themselves beyond anything they ever imagined.  Students need to be ready to memorize, to design simple costumes, and sometimes, to paint, or write short scripts.

There are usually three performances with four or five extra practices just prior to performance dates.

Attendance at every class or practice is mandatory.

Extra practice dates will be given in the first 9 weeks of the semester.

Parent Responsibilities:

Parents will be expected to volunteer. Possible jobs for parents include publicity, program preparation, food, transportation, set preparation, costumes, and ticket sales. Sewing help is always needed.

Required Texts: Script Fee $10-$15 TBA

Required Supplies:
½ inch 3 ring binder
Each student will prepare his or her own costume, with help from parents, and as directed by the tutors.
