We will be performing an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s “The Selfish Giant”.  This play teaches us that God shares His love with us and that we should share His love with others. It is about a giant that learns he must share his garden with others in order to keep it beautiful.

Course Prerequisites:  None

Course Fees:
$5 per copy

Required Texts:
Script (available after the first day)

Course Description:
The goal of this class is to learn the process of auditioning and performing a show. We will be reading through scripts, learning warm-up techniques, learning about stage presence, and vocal projection. The children will each be assigned a role in the play after audition. They will be expected to purchase their own script, and be expected to memorize their lines. There will be two performances at the end of the school year. Class time will be extended for extra practice closer to the time of the performances. These will be announced the first week of class. Students will also be responsible for their own costumes. One of my goals is to create a joyful atmosphere through this artistic process. Grading will include attendance, attitude, and the performance.
