Reading and Writing Scope and Sequence
In our Works Program, we have Mrs. Burdick and others that can assist you with curriculum planning and suggestions to help you meet your home school goals. One of the aspects of a good home school is knowing what a child must do for their writing program. Since writing is an important part of any thing we do, we want to make sure that the home school student is well prepared. We do suggest the attached writing scope and sequence. If you wish further information on how to implement this please feel free to contact the office to set up an appointment with a TW staff person. They would be happy to go over the process and curriculum to help you achieve this goal. There is an hourly cost for this service to all non-Teenworks members.

Home School Through High School
Many home school families feel inadequate to continue home schooling through the high school years. To help you, we will assist you in making wise choices to ensure that your student can graduate successfully and compete in the academic and business world.
One of the most important things to do before your student enters high school is to make a high school plan. This would detail which courses and what curriculum you will use to meet the graduation requirements. Click here for the new Michigan requirements starting with the graduating class of 2011. Mrs. Burdick or Teenworks staff is very willing to help you walk through this process and develop a plan. There are several options and curriculum that are self-paced and works well for the independent learner. We also offer many of the high school courses at our Teenworks building on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A high school planning session takes approximately one hour per student and is free to members. All non-members will be charged an hourly fee.
Every spring Mrs. Burdick offers a seminar for any one who would like to know more about the process of home schooling through the high school years. Again this is free to members and a small fee is charged to non-members. You must register in advance. Watch the Teenworks website for registration information.
